What’s New in MyID CMS v12.10

Introducing MyID CMS v12.10 Release: Streamlining Identity Management with External Identity Providers

In a rapidly evolving digital landscape, the need for a robust, secure, and efficient identity and access management system cannot be overstated. With this in mind, we are thrilled to present our latest MyID CMS v12.10, designed to encompass comprehensive identity management requirements with ease.

Harnessing the Power of External Identity Providers

Many organisations have adopted systems like Microsoft Entra or Okta as an identity provider (IdP) within their identity and access management ecosystem. Leveraging the OpenID Connect protocol, these systems provide a consistent way to authenticate an individual and share their information with other systems. Our new MyID CMS release v12.10 enables the use of external OpenID Connect identity providers for authentication in various scenarios.

The new release offers a feature to create a self-service request for credentials that can be instantly collected, including automatic account creation in MyID if required. For instance, IdP credentials like Microsoft Temporary Access Pass (TAP) can be used for authentication to receive high-security, passwordless credentials.

Additionally, MyID CMS v12.10 allows users to access MyID CMS features, including administrative functions using their IdP credentials. This provides a convenient alternative authentication method for organisations where MyID CMS offers credentials for non-Windows Authentication uses.

Credential Policies, FIDO/Passkeys, and Certificate Issuance

MyID policies control the permission to available credential types, aligning with credentials issued via other CMS processes. The new feature can issue FIDO/Passkeys and certificates on security keys, smart cards, mobile devices, and computers using Windows Hello for Business.

Self Service App Enhancements

MyID CMS v12.10 release brings forth enhancements to the Self Service App. A policy can now require end users to register security queries for later authentication to PIN Reset processes, reducing the burden on support desks.

Other Additions and Updates

The latest release includes various updates and enhancements such as PIV Identity Management (ID CMS) enhancements and User Categories & Relationships updates. The MyID platform is now equipped to support bespoke organisational requirements, managing credentials for both employees and external visitors, and mapping relationships between user accounts.

The MyID Core API has also seen updates, allowing users to manage the relationships between accounts and offering Person Status Summary & Request Fulfilment reports.

MyID CMS v12.10 release takes identity management to the next level. Its seamless integration with external identity providers, enhanced self-service app, and updated core API make it an ideal solution for organisations seeking to streamline identity management while maintaining a high level of security.
