Intercede gain ISO27001 certification and ISO9001 recertification

Intercede has gained ISO27001 certification and had its ISO9001 certification renewed following a week of external audits across multiple business departments.

Intercede’s ISO9001:2015 quality accreditation has been extended for a further three years and the business has now added the internationally recognised information security ISO27001:2013 certification to its quality standards, in addition to Cyber Essentials Plus.

Certification for the information security standard involved an external auditor running through an extensive set of compliance requirements across Intercede’s business functions to clarify whether the business met the standards required as part of a two-stage process.

Stage one involved a highlevel run through of Intercede controls and procedures with a UKAS accredited auditor. The business passed this stage with zero non-conformities and swiftly moved on to stage two.

The stage two audit typically involves an auditor on-site for a week-long period, however due to the pandemic and Intercede personnel working from home since March, the audit was carried out remotely.

Mike Weston, Chief Operating Officer at Intercede adds: “Intercede are committed to providing the highest levels of protection for the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our data and that of our customers and business partners stored on our networks.  I am therefore delighted that Intercede has now become formally ISO27001:2013 certified, as well as recertified for another 3 years for ISO9001:2015.

“ISO 27001 is one of the most internationally accepted and widely recognised information security standards developed to provide organisations with a framework for establishing processes for implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing and improving an Information Security Management System (ISMS). It identifies a set of best practices and controls for a comprehensive ISMS, defining how an organisation should manage and treat information more securely, including appropriate security controls. The standard considers not only IT but encompasses the entire business operation, including its people, processes and technology, and assures the robustness and quality of risk management processes to information security.

“At Intercede we are proud to have strong processes and systems and I would like to take the opportunity to thank our loyal staff for their commitment to adhere to our Quality Management System and associated security controls and helping come up with suggestions for continuous improvement.”
