Healthcare
MyID® credential management enables healthcare providers to issue and manage secure digital identities, protecting user access to software, data, systems and buildings for cyber secure operations.
The increasing threat of data breach
Healthcare is amongst the most attacked sectors by cyber criminals, and the threat continues to increase. An important step to protecting healthcare institutions is to safeguard against unauthorised access to data by issuing and managing secure digital identities for employees. MyID® hands healthcare providers the digital identity control they need to safeguard data, systems, networks and buildings from unauthorised access - removing the threat of weak and stolen passwords by embedding the strongest form of two-factor authentication.
MyID credential management for secure healthcare employee identity
MyID software enables healthcare providers to issue and manage cryptographically protected digital identities across large numbers of employees using public key infrastructure (PKI) for the most secure method of multi-factor authentication. Credentialing employees with PKI two-factor authentication ensures healthcare providers deliver best-practice identity management. Trusted by healthcare providers in the United States and Europe, MyID reduces the threat of data breach by removing weak user credentials from the equation - so providers can be certain that employees accessing secure networks, systems and data are who they claim to be, with a seamless experience and the technology they want to use.

A healthcare smart card is a physical smart card issued to clinical staff that provides authenticated access to clinical systems including the Spine, SCRa and Lorenzo. The card contains a PKI certificate linked to the Care Identity Service (CIS). MyID CMS manages healthcare smart card lifecycle programmes for hundreds of trusts.
The most common helpdesk tickets in healthcare environments are PIN resets and card replacements. MyID's self-service portal allows staff to reset their PIN, enable their card and request a replacement without involving IT. One large trust reduced helpdesk calls by 4,000 per month after deploying MyID self-service.
Yes, MyID supports mobile credentials for clinical staff, though through managed PKI on the device rather than a card-free "tap" at the workstation. Using MyID CMS, you can issue mobile identities and derived credentials to iOS and Android devices, either through a Mobile Device Management system such as Microsoft Intune or VMware Workspace ONE, or through an app built on the MyID Identity Agent Framework. A derived credential is issued on the trust of the clinician's existing smart card, so staff who already hold a card can extend a PKI credential to their phone for uses such as signing and encrypting email and carrying a digital identity badge. Certificates are stored in the device's secure key store, and MyID manages the full lifecycle, issue, renewal and revocation, from the same platform as the rest of your credentials.
Yes. MyID CMS and MFA meet the NHS DSPT 2024 requirements for data security, including phishing-resistant authentication for privileged access. MyID is approved for deployment across healthcare trusts. Evidence packs for DSPT audit are available on request.
