Emoji-Based Grid Patterns: MFA Made Fun

The standout feature in v5.4 is the introduction of Emoji ID Grid Patterns. This innovative authentication method transforms security into an engaging experience, particularly for younger users who are just learning about Multi-Factor Authentication. Users select emojis from a 4×4 grid to authenticate through the Identity Provider, making the process intuitive and memorable. The flexibility to update or regenerate emoji patterns anytime through the Self Service Portal puts users in control of their authentication experience while maintaining robust security.

Passwordless Authentication Advances

MyID v5.4 takes passwordless authentication to the next level with synced passkeys in the Windows Desktop Agent. Users can now register passkeys stored securely on iOS or Android devices and use them for seamless authentication on Windows 10 and 11 PCs. Additionally, the Windows Desktop Agent now supports OneSpan Digipass FX1 and FX2 biometric FIDO tokens, combining hardware-based security with fingerprint biometrics for enhanced protection.

Streamlined Administration

Administrators will appreciate the enhanced Web Management Portal, which now supports direct configuration of global settings for more centralised control. The modernised interface provides a responsive, intuitive alternative to the traditional MMC console, making daily management tasks simpler and more efficient. Administrators can also view detailed server information directly within the portal, improving operational oversight and access to critical system data.

With full .NET 10 support across the Authentication Server, Domain Controller Agent, and Windows Desktop Agent, v5.4 ensures improved performance, enhanced security, and long-term platform compatibility with Microsoft’s latest runtime environment.
