MyID is FIDO Certified

MyID now FIDO2 Certified

Intercede’s MyID credential management software is now FIDO2 certified. The certification has been awarded after MyID passed FIDO (Faster IDentity Online) Alliance interoperability trials.

FIDO is a set of open authentication standards backed by technology leaders including Microsoft, Apple, Google, Intel, Facebook and Amazon.

The FIDO2 standard enables users to easily authenticate into applications and services via mobile and desktop environments using common devices. FIDO2 specifications incorporate the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Authentication (WebAuthn) specification and FIDO Alliance’s Client-to-Authenticator Protocol (CTAP).

Passwordless, cryptographic-backed login via FIDO2 is simple and secure, enabling users to authenticate via anything from an iPhone to a YubiKey.

The certification means any organisations using MyID v12+ will have a credential management system and FIDO authentication server out-the-box to issue, manage and authenticate with FIDO credentials with any FIDO certified authenticator.

Intercede Chief Product Officer, Allen Storey said: “This is an evolution of MyID that we are hugely excited about. As a FIDO certified product, MyID brings FIDO to the enterprise, introducing an entirely new level of control. Person/key binding, policy control, revocation management and centralised auditability are all a part of MyID, handing IT teams the control they need to adopt FIDO for their employee identity deployment.  Supporting both PKI and FIDO uniquely gives our customers the flexibility they need to use the best form of strong authentication that best fits their business needs.”
