The revised Payments Services Directive (PSD2), due to come into force in January 2018, is looming large over the banking and finance industry. The final version of the associated Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) for authentication was published by the European Banking Authority in February. These rules will mandate compliance with new ‘strong customer authentication’ and change the way consumers make payments online. Although the new version takes a more risk-based approach, uncertainties – and controversies – still very much remain.
Join us at this event on PSD2 Authentication, hosted by Intercede and techUK, aimed at shedding much needed light on the PSD2 and the new RTS rules. Building on the success of earlier seminars, the panel welcomes recognised industry experts from leading organisations for an informative and interactive discussion. Within this afternoon session, we will explain the pros, the cons and the nuances of the RTS and what it will mean for UK consumers and the banking, technology and retail sectors. We’ll go on to outline real life examples related to security, user experience, cost, ease of implementation and legal implications. Register now to join us at what will be both a revealing and thought provoking seminar.
