Chairman & Chief Executive
Richard Parris is an Anglo-American technology entrepreneur with extensive experience in the cyber security and identity management industry. He founded Intercede in 1992 and has led the Group through all stages of its growth, including an IPO in 2001.
Richard regularly engages with governments, systems integrators, cloud service providers and major corporations to promote the importance of identity assurance as the cornerstone of cyber security, physical access control and the digital delivery of public services. He is a Chartered Engineer and has an MBA from the University of Warwick Business School.
Richard is a member of Catalyst UK, a global network of business leaders, influencers and academics that have agreed to help UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and other parts of the British government to promote UK excellence internationally. He is also a member of the UK government’s Cyber Growth Partnership.
Andrew Walker is a finance professional with 30 years of senior management experience, during which time he has worked for a number of large international organizations. He was Group Financial Controller of The Rugby Group PLC between 1995 and 2000, and was an Executive Board member from 1997. Before this, he worked for APV plc in a variety of roles, having joined as Group Chief Accountant in 1990 and progressed to subsidiary and divisional Finance Director roles. Between 1981 and 1990, Andrew qualified and worked for Price Waterhouse with a wide range of audit clients. Andrew has a BCom (Honors) degree in Accounting from the University of Birmingham and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He was appointed Finance Director of Intercede on 11 September 2000.
Jayne has 16 years experience at Intercede as Operations Director. During this time she has been responsible for the establishment of Intercede's global infrastructure including human resources, facilities, customer support functions, ISO quality culture, administration functions, staff incentive and retention plans. Jayne has been responsible for the recruitment of an exceptional team of software engineers, sales staff and support professionals in both the UK and US. In this regard, to the extent that a company is defined by its people, Jayne has been one of the key architects of Intercede's success.
Jayne participates in all main Board meetings in the capacity of PDMR to support the CEO in all operational and HR matters. She is also a director of Intercede's US subsidiary, Intercede MyID Inc. In this role Jayne spends a significant amount of time in the US supervising the growth of intercede's US operation.
Prior to joining Intercede Jayne held a number of senior managerial roles in the NHS including that of Chief Executive of Coventry Healthcare NHS Trust. Trained as a professional hospital manager, Jayne is experienced in managing large multidisciplinary teams of highly qualified professionals in resource constrained environments.
Jayne is a serving Magistrate.
Global Head of Sales
Rory oversees the Intercede Sales Teams, located both in the UK and US. His background includes direct and channel sales both in the UK and across US and wider European territories with large and small enterprises, and infrastructure technology businesses.
Rory has previously worked for Dassault Systemes, EMC and BEA Systems, where he was responsible for developing sales teams and forging faster and higher value routes to market, both directly and through channels. In recent years he has been successful in both public sector and private sector business from automotive and aerospace through to social welfare, taxation and telecommunications.
Rory began his working life as a Systems Engineer and Technologist, and was responsible for co-creating the world’s first airline and airport self-service ticketing, check-in and bag drop solutions in 1989. Consequently he brings innovation and a real-life experience of the need for more secure models for tomorrow’s computing and component models, and how businesses must align for this.
Dr Chris Edwards
Chief Technical Officer
Chris was responsible for the initial design of the MyID® product and retains overall responsibility for the architecture and use of technology within it. He has over 30 years’ senior level experience within the IT industry, 12 of them within the security sector.
Chris was instrumental in making MyID the first electronic personalization system to achieve FIPS 201 accreditation as part of the US HSPD-12 PIV Approved Products Scheme, and has
substantial experience of working on both US and UK government security projects.
Chief Product Officer
Allen has overall responsibility for Intercede’s MyID® product and MyTAM service offerings.
Allen is also responsible for Intercede’s technical relationship with key strategic partners including Citrix, Good Technology and Microsoft. Allen has over 25 years’ experience in the IT industry, 15 of which have been in cybersecurity.
He has advised on major projects for UK, US, Kuwaiti, Dutch and Australian governments, in addition to aerospace and defense, financial institutions and high value IPR corporates. Allen has particular experience in integrated solutions architecture design and secure business processes. Prior to joining Intercede Allen managed the deployment of software solutions with large corporations such as Ford, Debenhams and Marks & Spencer.
Chief Innovations Officer
Nick is responsible for Research and Development for MyID® connected client apps and the MyID Mobile SDK, and is Intercede’s Software Engineering process champion.
He has worked in the software industry for over 15 years, being involved in high security projects for both governments and enterprises.
Prior to joining Intercede, he held senior Research and Development positions at Ericsson and was responsible for secure mobile and media processing applications with customers including secure government organizations and global telecommunications providers.
Director of Engineering
Martin is responsible for the development of the MyID® platform. He has over 30 years’ experience within the IT industry, 15 of them within the security sector, and over 20 years’ in senior management positions.
He has been responsible for developing large scale software solutions that have been successfully deployed in various major governments, in addition to aerospace and defense, financial institutions, ISPs and high value corporates.
Prior to entering the security sector, Martin worked in a number of other IT sectors, including telecommunications and automated materials handling.
Customer Services Director
Nigel leads Intercede’s global customer support operation along with the technical services team serving EMEA and Asia-Pacific. Nigel joined Intercede in 2005 and has been responsible for the successful delivery of major contracts including national ID schemes, border control and large corporate secure badging solutions.
A qualified electronics engineer with a degree in Computer Science, Nigel worked for a number of years in the telecoms sector specializing in the design of state-of-the-art voice switching and recording systems. Prior to joining Intercede, Nigel worked in the banking sector, focusing on delivering IT systems to facilitate new international businesses.
Director of Technical Support Services
Alan is responsible for all aspects of MyID® service delivery for US-based customers including consultancy, installation, configuration and training. Alan has over 25 years’ experience with managing and deploying enterprise software products. This includes eight years in the identity sector deploying MyID to US Federal, aerospace and defense and enterprise customers.
Alan is the senior technical resource in the US. He has extensive practical experience working with MyID and has worked with multiple customers to assist them with their smart card deployments. This includes deployment of PIV, PIV-I and CIV solutions starting with the initial round of US Federal Agency PIV card deployments in 2006. Alan also has a good working knowledge of FIPS 201 and associated Special Publications.
General Manager, US Operations
Jon is responsible for the management of Intercede’s US office; he also has business development responsibilities for US state and local government and Latin America. Jon has over 20 years’ experience in the security field. Before joining Intercede, he was a subject matter expert at CSC, specializing in immigration and identity management.
In 2009, Jon served for a year as Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan, where he was responsible for management and security. From 1991 to 2009, he worked at the UK Home Office, where he held a number of senior operational roles focused on immigration, including director of visa services for the Americas.
Vice President of Sales – North America
Ben leads Intercede’s Sales and Sales Engineering teams in North America. He brings 10 years of experience in the computer software security industry serving the US and Canadian governments, aerospace & defense contractors, and enterprises across North America.
Ben brings a deep working knowledge of secure credentials from sales to implementation, and was heavily involved with the US Government HSPD-12 credentialing mandate. Prior to joining Intercede Ben worked for such companies as RSA and EMC in varying roles serving both US Federal and enterprise customers.
General Counsel, US
Kristen is General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer for Intercede in the United States. She has more than 20 years’ experience representing companies in all aspects of their legal affairs, with particular emphasis on cybersecurity and corporate growth. Kristen is the founder of Pondera International, a consulting firm specializing in cybersecurity policy advocacy and business and legal advice for start-up technology companies. Prior to her time at Pondera and Intercede, Kristen served as General Counsel, Americas, for British Telecommunications plc.
